go to the gallery home pageComprehensive Unicode Test Page for Buginese

This page tests the Buginese Unicode block (U+1A00 - U+1A1F).

It is part of the Gallery of Unicode Fonts and is based on the Unicode Standard (version 5.0.0).

Letters have an inherent -a vowel. The other vowels are indicated by a mark above, below, to the left, or to the right of the letter, depending on the vowel. Vowels at the beginning of syllables are represented by using U+1A15 (A) as a base for the vowel mark. Syllables ending in a consonant are not differentiated.

pick the desired font name

from this list    - or -       by typing in the exact font name

The selected font must be installed on your system. This page might not display properly with older versions of Internet Explorer or Netscape. Additionally, Netscape & Firefox may show an unsupported character using a different font to the one selected. Internet Explorer seems to do this too, but to a much lesser extent.

Reserved/unallocated codepoints are shown with a gray background.

There are two sections presented below to test characters in the Buginese block:

This sequence should create the "iya" ligature, which looks like "yi"
but with the dot above moved all the way to the left.
